ENOLA (Feature Artist)
Each week at Small Time, we collaborate with a local artist to showcase their music, merch and host a live performance.
Creating raw and powerful music out of Naarm/Melbourne, ENOLA brings a modern telling of post-punk and shoegaze. Following the release of their debut EP by Burning Rose Records in 2019, a new cathartic post-punk scream comes from ENOLA, evolving from an electronic production background.
From the most tender ballads to criminally heavy grunge ENOLA traverses the rollercoaster of emotions in their set with poignant and uninhibited vocals that are brought to the spotlight with the energy of a full band. After spending the last year extensively performing live across Australia, a new album scheduled for release in 2021 will reflect a new era in ENOLA’s music.
Recently performing Cvlt Nation Live Set and Isol-aid Festival their performances bring a wild energy that feels like it could splinter apart at any moment. ENOLA comes from their birth name and strongly ties back to consistent themes of isolation in their work. ENOLA’s career highlights include their single “Running” placed on high rotation at FBi Radio, Triple J airplay and featured as #9 on Cvlt Nation Top Avant Garde Records of 2019. With a vocal delivery similar to Kurt Cobain meets Alan Vega, the urgency of IDLES and atmosphere of Joy Division; ENOLA carves out their own distinct sound, emerging as one of Australia’s most exciting performers of 2020.
